Virginia House of Delegates Speaker William J. Howell (R-Stafford) issued the following statement on the passing of Speaker Thomas W. Moss, Jr.
"Cessie and I share our prayers and deepest condolences with Norma and the entire Moss family.
"I had the privilege of serving with Tom for twelve years, but his service spanned decades. He was a member of the House for 36 years and served as Treasurer of Norfolk for another decade. The length of his service reflects his tireless commitment to fellow citizens and the Commonwealth.
"Tom was a fierce competitor, was passionate about his beliefs and had a sharp sense of humor. The House of Delegates mourns the loss of a friend."
